Munde demands amendment of Rehabilitation Act
Beed, Maharashtra, Sep 4 (UNI) While contending that the present Rehabilitation Act had become outdated, senior BJP leader Gopinath Munde today demanded that the Act be suitably amended.
Addresing a press conference at Majalgaon in this district during his ongoing ''Goda Parikrama'', Mr Munde also alleged that the State lacks proper planning on irrigation which needs to be remedied by setting up a new Irrigation Commission.
Mr Munde said in the absence of proper guidelines, the water in these projects was not being fully utilised.
The BJP leader said the State Government has not allocated any fund for the repair of the irrigation projects during the last seven years.
Mr Munde, who on August 31 started his ''Goda Parikrama'', a tour of the flood-affected villages on the banks of the Godavari river, reached Majalgaon today.
