MMTC floats 1,500 tn moong,urad import tender for Nov-Dec delivery

Mumbai, Sep 5 (UNI) State-run trading agency, Mineral and Metal Trading Corporation (MMTC) Ltd has floated a tender to import 1,500 tonne of moong or green gram and urad or black Matpe each at zero duty for delivery during Nov-Dec.

MMTC spokesperson told UNI that the bids have to be quoted on cost and freight basis. The tender also specifies that the minimum quantity offered should not be below 500 tn for each item and the quantity should be offered in multiples of 500 tn thereafter. The tender closes at 1600 hrs on September 11.

The bids will remain valid till Sep 18. The tender document said the imported consignments are for delivery at Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai ports.

It also said pulses for delivery must be from the current crop and fit for human consumption. It did not specify the country of origin, he added.
