Lok Sabha Speaker condoles death of former Bihar CM

New Delhi, Sep 5(UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today condoled the death of former Bihar Chief Minister and former Lok Sabha member Satyendra Narayan Sinha, saying in his demise the country had lost yet another distinguished personality.

In a message sent to the family of Mr Sinha from Nigeria where he is attending the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, Mr Chatterjee said, ''As a member of the Bihar Legislature, as Bihar's Chief Minister, as a Member of Parliament and in several other capacities he has served the State and the country with distinction for nearly half a century.'' Mr Chatterjee noted that Mr Sinha had encouraged him to discharge the Speaker's responsibilities when he had met him in Patna recently.
