L V Prasad's contribution to film industry hailed
Hyderabad, Sept 5 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Shakeel Ahmad today said Dada Saheb Phalke award winner and film producer late L V Prasad had contributed much for the development of film industry in the country.
Addressing a function, after releasing the commemorative postage stamp of L V Prasad here the Minister said Prasad focussed on social values in his films and several facilities were created for the film industry in the country.
Stating Prasad Group was the largest network in the country, he said L V Prasad Eye Institute here gained world recognition with world class equipment and professionals.
Union Minister of state Dasari Narayana Rao while lauding the services of the Prasad for the development of the film industry, said Prasad's life was a rare example to show that even as he started from the scrap through hard work he became a top film personality in the country.
He appealed to the Union Minister to take steps to release stamps of other great film artists, late Chittoor V Nagaiah and Savithri.
He said the matter was pending with the ministry for the last two years.
Honouring Prasad was a great honor to the entire film fraternity.
State Health Minister K Rosaiah who released the book on Prasad's history said Prasad had proved that Telugus could rule the Bombay film industry.
He said Prasad invested the entire money earned from the industry for the benefit of upcoming generations in the film industry, by providing several facilities.
Chairman of the Eenadu group of publications Ch Ramoji Rao said Prasad's life proved that man could do achieve anything through hard work. His life was an open book for the film industry in the country.
Managing Director of Prasad Group and son of L V Prasad, Ramesh Prasad said the Prasad Group founded in 1956 had offices and facilities in almost all major Indian cities and in Singapore, United Arab Emirates and the United States of America.
Thanking the Indian government for the release of the commomerative stamp in memory of his father, he assured to work on the lines of his father's wishes in the future.
