Heavy rains forecast in MP, Chattisgarh, Vidarbha

Pune, Sep 5 (UNI) Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in east Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh and at many places in west Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Orissa, Jharkhand, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Saurashtra, Kutch, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

The Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Orissa and Chattisgarh and active over coastal Andhra Pradesh. It has been subdued over west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan, Gujarat, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Heavy rains have occured at most places in Orissa and Chattisgarh. Rain or thundershowers have occured at most places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and at many places in east Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, west Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalseema, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, east Uttar Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Gujarat, Marathwada, Kerala and south interior Karnataka.
