Delhi University student stabbed to death by lover in South Delhi
New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) In a mysterious end to a young love story, a 20-year-old Delhi University student was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover in Mehrauli area of South Delhi this afternoon.
Renu, second year (Correspondence) student of Delhi University, was stabbed with a sharped-edged weapon (gupti) by her lover Rajesh (26) this afternoon at his Chhattarpur Enclave residence in Mehrauli, said the police.
''The accused was also carrying a sword along with the 'gupti' with which he stabbed the girl,'' the police said.
Rajesh, who is polio-ridden, also received injuries from the sharp-edged weapon when the girl tried to escape from his grip.
''She died soon after.'' Rajesh later slit his throat and has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where his condition is stated to be serious.
''He is being operated upon.'' The incident took place after Renu went to meet her friend Monika, who is Rajesh's sister.
Reports said Rajesh and Renu, who were neighbours, knew each other closely.
