Bill on social security in unorganised sector during budget sessio
Varanasi, Sep 5 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Chandrashekhar Sahu said a bill for providing social security to labourers in unorganised sector will be introduced in the budget session of Parliament Interacting with newspersons here yesterday, Mr Sahu said the bill has been prepared in line with the recommendations of the Arjun Sengupta Committee.
He said the passage of the bill in Parliament will result in social security including pension to labourers in the unorganised sector.
Countering the opposition's allegations about decline in employment during the UPA regime, Mr Sahu claimed even an economic powerhouse like China had evinced keen interest in the Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (REGS) of the Centre.
''A delegation of the Chinese government during its recent visit to India evinced keen interest in the REGS and was planning to introduce a similar scheme in their country,'' he added.
