Bandh in Gujarat town over arrest of Godhra-accused

Palanpur, Gujarat, Sep 5 (UNI) Bhiloda Taluka town of Sabarkantha district observed a bandh today following arrest of 12 more people including President of Merchant Association and a doctor last evening, in connection with post-Godhra riots.

Janmohamad Memon and Pirbhai Mansuri had lodged a complaint against 15 people four years ago in March 2002.

According to Circle Inspector of Police (CPI) Bhiloda RK Kumbharwadiya, heavy police force was deployed in the town since last night in wake of the arrest. Besides, an additional contingent and four police officers had been deployed in the town.

With the recert arrestst the total figure in post-Godhra riots has gone up to 22.

Those who were arrested last evening are former BJP secretary from Bhiloda Prabhudas Laljibhai Patel, Pravinkumar Ganapatlal Soni, Ravindra Mansinh, Arjunbhai ShivrayVij, Dr Nitinkumar Manubhai Joshi, Girish Narayandas Soni, Gunwantbhai Bhgawandas Trivedi, President of Local Merchant association Manish Kumar Haribhai Patel, Gopaldas Ganeshbhai Khatri, Mukeshkumar Pramod Rai Khatri, Aravinbhai Narayanbhai Soni and Vasudev Virchand Khatri. All of them are from Bhiloda.
