Ban on sellling of combat uniform in J
Jammu, Sep 4 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has imposed certain restrictions upon the private parties dealing theprocurement, storage and sale, stitching of army combat dress, clothreadymade combat dress.
District Magistrate Jammu Hirdesh Kumar Singh imposed the ban.
''No unauthorised person shall procure or purchase,store, stitch, sell army combat uniform, all authorised private firms dealing in such articles shall immediately inform in writing to the nearest police station the fact of their carrying on of this occupation,'' he said in order.
He said the time limit for informing the nearest police station shall be seven days from the date of issuance and publication of this order and it shall be mandatory for all authosized firms dealing in such articles to maintain registers giving details of the items received with quantity, date type, and quantity of items sold, and the address/identity of the buyer.
Mr Singh further issued instructions that all such authorised firms shall sell such articles to bona fide members of the armed forces after verifying their identify and also take noter of their name and unit number.
Also a police officer of the rank of ASI and above shall have the authority to check the registers on routine as well as for the purpose of investigations and enquiries, if required.
The order shall remain in force for a period of two months from September 2.
