Anita Chanu wins silver in German International Judo event

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) Angom Anita Chanu became the first Indian Judoka to win a medal in the 'A' Grade European tournament by winning silver in the German international Championship at Braunschweig.

Chanu, a SAF Gold medallist from Manipur, won Silver in the 52kg weight category beating judokas from Germany, France and the Netherlands in the tournament held from September 1 to 4, a Judo Federation of India release said here today.

Another SAF Gold medallist, L Brojeshori Devi finished seventh in 57kg weight category.
