AMC prohibits immersion of Ganesh idols in Kankaria lake

Ahmedabad, Sep 5 (UNI) With the Gujarat Pollution Control Board stepping in, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has prohibited immersion of Lord Ganesh idols in the city's Kankaria lake.

To make the lake pollution-free, various Ganesh associations have been asked to immerse the idols in the Sabarmati river at 14 places allotted by the traffic police.

The AMC has also made arrangements to carry the idols from Kanakaria to Sabarmati and the trucks carrying idols would be stopped at Dedki garden. The idols would then be taken for immersion near the Sardar bridge.
