Airtel launches service in Kinnuar district of HP
Shimla, Sep 5 (UNI) India's leading mobile service provider Airtel today announced the launch of its mobile services in Sangla Valley of the tribal Kinnuar district, expanding its reach in the state to 11 districts.
Addressing a press conference here company's Chief Commercial Officer (COO) Sharlin Thayil said the launching of Airtel services in the district would benefit local people, tourists, agriculturists, para military, horticulturists, and army people of the valley.
He said the services would also be available in the surrounding villages of Kamru, Raksham, Batsari, Chansu, Brua and Sapni of the district and added only Lahaul Spiti district of the state has been left out of its network.
Claiming that it was the largest mobile service provider in the state with over 4.50 lakh subscribers, he said the company was likely to launch its services in Lahaul Spiti district in month's time.
Mr Thayil said Airtel services in the tribal district would be provided through satellite and would be the only district of the country where this would be done.
Airtel, with over 50 per cent market share, has the largest network of cell sites, he said.
He said Airtel had augmented its capacity completely to provide hassle free mobile services to its subscribers in the state, adding that there was now no congestion on making calls to any other network from Airtel.
