5 of family shot dead over trivial issue
Hamirpur, Sep 5 (UNI) A trivial issue of cattle grazing led to the murder of five members of a family including two women and a teenage boy, while four others were grievously wounded in Jaria area of the district today.
Police said Ramratan and his son Premchand of village Mankahri -- about 85 kms from the district headquarter -- had objected to the entry of a neighbour's cattle into their field for grazing.
When the issue snowballed, the duo shot dead Moolchand (35), his brother Parshuram (50), mother Lalita (75), Rajesh (15) and Anita (35), who died on way to the hospital.
Four others, who had sustained wounds, had been admitted to hospital.
Meanwhile, senior police officials had rushed to the spot.
Investigations were on.
