3 fans injured as iron fencing collapses at 'Rolling Camp' ground

Bangalore, Sep 5 (UNI) Three cricket fans sustained injuries when an iron fencing erected on a compound wall, on which they were sitting, at the NCA grounds here where the 'Rolling Camp' involving master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Team India captain Rahul Dravid collapsed today.

With a blanket of tight security thrown around the stadium, the die-hard fans, numbering about 40, could find only one way to watch their icons practice. They climbed over a tree and sat on the ten-foot-high compound wall.

When Tendulkar and Harbhajan waved at them, they were thrilled, oblivious of the danger of so many of them sitting on an aged wall.

The wall gave way, injuring three people. While one of them was admitted to a hospital with head injuries, the other two suffered minor injuries.

Following the incident, training was stopped and the players moved to the adjoining Chinnaswamy stadium. Besides Tendulkar, Dravid and Harbhajan, VRV Singh and Dinesh Mongia were attending the camp for Kuala Lumpur-bound players to play a tri-series against Australia and West Indies.

The 'rolling camp' was being held in batches, with five players taking part in each of them and this was the final batch.
