2 militants were killed in South Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 5 (UNI) Two Militants were killed by the army and Jammu and Kashmir police in a joint operation in Anantnag district of south Kashmir today, a defence spokesman said.

Troops of 3 Rashtriya Rifles and the Jammu and Kashmir police personnel launched a joint operation in Hapatnar area of Anantnag District this evening.

On noticing the troops, militants fired upon them with automatic weapons, he added.

The spokesman said the fire was effectively retaliated by troops in the ensuing gunfight, two militants were killed.

He said the ultras were identified as Ayoub Khan and Amin Najar.
