13 killed and 13 injured in road accidents in AP

Hyderabad, Sep 5 (UNI) Thirteen persons were killed and an equal number injured in four different accidents in the state today.

Seven people were killed, and seven others injured when a van dashed against a stationary lorry near Bynapally village in Kadapa district.

According to police, the mishap occurred when 14 people belonging to Mahbubnagar travelling in a van, lost control and hit the lorry.

One person died on the way to hospital, where the injured were also admitted.

Three persons were killed and six others injured when the van in which they were carrying Ganesh idols collided with state-owned bus near Narsimharaopeta village in Khammam district.

The injured were admitted to a local hospital, the police said.

Two persons were killed on the spot when a tractor in which they were returning after immersion of Ganesh idols, lost control and overturned near Parasa village of Guntur district.

One person was killed when he was hit by a speeding van while crossing the road near Begumpet, the police added.
