Two more female foetuses found in Udaipur, Chittorgarh

Jaipur, Sept 4 (UNI) With two more female foetuses found in Udaipur and Chittorgarh, the foeticide cases have risen to five in the past two months.

Udaipur's Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr M S Yadav has been sent on APO (Awaiting Posting Orders) after another female foetus was found near UIT bridge in the city yesterday.

A boy was fishing in a lake near the bridge when his fishing rod got entangled with a female foetus floating in the water. The boy named Laxman told the passersby about the incident, who in turn informed the police. The police took the foetus to the Maharana Bhupal Hospital where a post mortem was conducted. The foetus was estimated to be 16-18 weeks old.

Another six month old female foetus was found in Akola town in Chittorgarh district yesterday. The foetus was lying in the bushes near Berach river and was found by a person named Mukesh Gavariya, who informed the police.

The police has lodged a case under Section 318 under Indian Penal Code against unindentified people.

Three female foetuses were found floating in Fatehsagar Lake a month back. Another body of a female infant was found in Aayar river in the recent past.
