Tennis-Open-Dementieva rolls into quarter-finals of U.S. Open

NEW YORK, Sept 4 (Reuters) Russian fourth seed Elena Dementieva booked a spot in the quarter-finals of the US Open by defeating France's Aravane Rezai 7-5 6-4 today.

Dementieva will next face either compatriot Svetlana Kuznetsova or Serbian Jelena Jankovic in the quarters.

Rezai hung in against Dementieva but was ultimately done in by committing 35 unforced errors during the 79-minute match.

If Dementieva faces the sixth seeded Kuznetsova, it would be a rematch of the 2004 women's final, which was won by Kuznetsova.
