Suzlon Wind Energy signs deal with Edison Mission Group
Mumbai, Sep 4 (UNI) Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation, a subsidiary of Suzlon Energy of Denmark, has signed another 105 mw (mega watt) deal with Edison Mission Group for 50 units of Suzlon's S88-2.1 mw wind turbines.
A release issued by Suzlon here said, the delivery of the units is expected to begin in mid 2007. After the deal, Suzlon Energy has a current consolidated order book position of Rs 45.87 billion, with Rs 37.87 billion in international orders and Rs eight billion in domestic orders.
Recently on August 23, this year, the wholly owned subsidiary of Suzlon Energy, Denmark (SEAS), secured an order from Maestrale Green Energy of Italy for 21 mw to be supplied in 10 units of Suzlon's S88-2.1 mw turbine.
SEAS has also secured an order from Tecneira - Tecnologias Energeticas, of Portugal for 39.9 mw of wind turbine capacity to be supplied in 19 units of the S88-2.1 mw wind turbine.
Both of these projects are expected to commence operation in the second quarter of 2007.
With the deal, the company's cumulative international order book position reached at 670.9 mw.
During June'06 quarter, Suzlon Energy posted a rise of 221.91 per cent in net profit to Rs 1,936 million as compared to Rs 601.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.
