Nobody can be forced to sing 'Vande Mataram': Mah CM
Pune, Sep 4 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh here today said nobody can be forced to sing the national song 'Vande Mataram' against his or her wishes.
Mr Deshmukh said, ''I respect the song deeply, but still I think that nobody can be forced to sing the song.'' To another question about the Supreme Court's decision on the border dispute with Karnataka, the Chief Minister said he welcomed the court's decision to look into the matter afresh.
The Karnataka government was unnecessarily making too much out of it, he added.
Mr Deshmukh was in Maval taluka for a function, organised by JCB Company, which deals in earthmoving machines.
