Nikkei hits highest since May after Wall St gains
TOKYO, Sep 4 (Reuters) The Nikkei average rose 1.09 percent on Monday to its highest level in more than three months on gains in exporters such as Canon Inc. after U.S. stocks rose on a report showing U.S. job growth was slightly stronger than expected.
The Nikkei was up 176.27 points at 16,310.52 by 0004 GMT, its highest intraday since May 17. The broader TOPIX index was 0.86 percent higher at 1,647.33.
