NCW delegation meets rape victims in Lakhisarai

Munger (Bihar), Sep 3 (UNI) A two member delegation of the National Commission for women (NCW) today met the four dalit women, who were allegedly raped by the local goons on the night of August 6-7 in Suryagarha village of Lakhisarai district.

The delegation of the NCW comprising its members Prof Malini Bhattacharya and Mankju Snehlata and assisted by Manju Prakash, Chairperson of the Bihar Women's Commission.

According to reports received here, all the victims narrated their woes to the commission and stated that they were abused, assaulted and raped in front of their male members.

They alleged that former Mukhiya of local Panchayat was also among the criminals.

They have also complained to the commission about the partisan role of the Lakhisarai police, sources added.
