Let Mulayam announce unemployment allowance for self: Cong
Varanasi, Sep 4 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress today termed its support to the Mulayam Singh Yadav government as the ''shoulders necessary to carry the coffin of the Samajwadi Party-led reging, which would never return to power again.'' Addressing a demonstration by party workers at the district headquarters here against the ''misrule'' of the Mulayam government, UPCC chief Salman Khurshid said the days of the state government were numbered and the SP regime will never return to power again.
''Let the chief minister announce his much touted unemployement allowance for himself, as the SP supremo, after tasting dust in next assembly polls will become jobless,'' he said.
Expvesring himself, enthused by the massive agitation, Mr Khurshid called upon the party rank and file in UP to ensure it was the Congress, which formed the next government in UP and not any other opposition party -- BJP or BSP.
Speaking at the congregation of party workers in response to AICC president Sonia Gandhi's recent call for a 'Do or Die' battle in UP, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Pramod Tiwari mocked the claims of the UP government about elimination of all criminals in the state, alleging unsavoury elements were part of the SP regime.
