Indians rash, Pakistani drivers fatal on Dubai roads
Dubai, Sep 4 (UNI) Indians have topped the list of drivers causing most accidents, while Pakistanis have caused maximum number of fatal accidents in Dubai, according to the statistics available for the first half of the year.
The Indian drivers committed 228 accidents, causing 30 deaths and 344 injuries, which was 19.2 per cent of the overall accident cases, the Roads and Transport Authority said.
However, the maximum number of fatal accidents were caused by Pakistani drivers, resulting in 37 deaths and 332 injuries in 193 accidents, which amounted to 23.7 per cent of the total accident cases.
Dubai's landmark ''Shaikh Zayed Road'', which witnessed 54 fatal accidents or 10 per cent of road deaths, was declared ''the most dangerous road'' in Dubai.
Drivers in the age group of 18-25 caused maximum number of accidents and are the main victims, an RTA official said.
