Haryana to develop Hi-Tech city in NCR by 2021

Chandigarh, Sep 4 (UNI) The Haryana Government has decided to develop a hi-tech city in the Samalkha-Ganaur area in the districts of Panipat and Sonipat falling in the National Capital Region (NCR).

This project is being implemented with the aim to develop the small and medium towns of NCR.

While stating this here yesterday, a spokesman of the Town and Country Development department said that an Expression of Interest had already been invited by the department from the consultants to prepare a detailed strategy and action plan for developing this Hi-Tech City by the year 2021.

He said the initiative of the Government was not only to intercept the migrating population but also act as an area of employment and growth for the population. The vision of the Government was to create towns, which could provide an ideal environment for cutting-edge technologies and research.

The new city envisages provisions for research in bio-technology, nano-technology and semi-conductors. The Hi-Tech City would become a one stop destination in the region for services such as IT, IT-enabled services and related institutions for venture capital, insurance and transportation.

The spokesman said the towns would provide and support quality physical and social infrastructure needed for this purpose. The options of availability of water, electricity and other infrastructure facilities in and around the proposed town would also be taken into consideration while developing this hi-tech city.
