Governor, CM condole death of S N Sinha

Patna, Sep 4 (UNI) Bihar Governor R S Gavai and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today mourned former Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Satyendra Narain Sinha.

In his condolence message, Mr Gavai described Mr Sinha as a great leader, able administrator and social worker'. ''He had actively participated in freedom struggle and left an indelible mark on the state as well as the nation,'' the Governor observed.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar described his 's death as 'a great loss to the nation'. ''He was one of the few leaders of pre-independence era whose valuable guidance had always helped me.

Translating his dreams into realities would be a true tribute to the departed soul,'' he added.

Railway Minister and RJD president Lalu Prasad described Mr Sinha as a leader who always stood for mitigating the sufferings of the toiling masses. ''In his death, a great void has been created which would be difficult to fill,'' he added.

Former chief minister and leader of the opposition in the state assembly, Mrs Rabri Devi termed the death as an 'irreparable loss' to the nation.

BJP leader and former union minister Dr C P Thakur, Bihar water resources minister Ramashreya Prasad Singh, former ministers Shambu Sharan Thakur and Shyam Rajak were among those who condoled Mr Sinha's death.
