Golf tournament in Kashmir postponed due to bad weather

Srinagar, Sep 4 (UNI) In view of the prevailing bad weather in the Kashmir valley and water-logging at the Kashmir Golf Club here, the organisers have postponed the 19-day golf tournament, scheduled o start tomorrow.

An official spokesman said the new dates would be announced later.

The tournament was to be jointly organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department, the Kashmir Golf Club, Royal Springs Golf Club and Pahalgam and Gulmarg Development Authorities.

The qualifying rounds of the championship were scheduled to be played at the Kashmir Golf Club here on September 5, at the Pahalgam Golf Course on September 9 and at the world's highest golf course at Gulmarg on September 16.

The finals were slated to be played at the Royal Springs Golf Course here on September 23.
