Fresh depression to bring more rains to AP

Visakhapatnam, Sep 4 (UNI) Even as the North Coastal Andhra Pradesh is recovering from the monsoon fury, a fresh depression has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining West Bengal and North Orissa Coast today which is likely to bring more rains to Srikakulam District.

The depression lay centered at about 180 km Southeast of Balasore and was likely to move in a Northwesterly direction and cross North Orissa and West Bengal Coast between Paradeep and Digha by tomorrow morning, a weather bulletin issued by the Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC) here said.

Under its influence, rain or thundershowers were likely at many places, with heavy spells, at one or two places in Srikakulam during the next 24 hours.

Squally winds with speeds reaching 50 to 60 kmph was likely along and off the coastal areas in Srikakulam District.

Strong surface winds from westerly direction with speeds reaching 50 to 55 kmph are likely along and off the rest of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

The sea would be rough and fishermen were advised not to venture into the sea.

Local cautionary signal No three was hoisted at Kalingapatnam Port and distant cautionary signal No one at Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and Machilipatnam Ports, it added.
