Eicher Motors CV sales up 54% in August

New Delhi, Sep 4 (UNI) Eicher Motors today said it sold 1,960 vehicles during August in the domestic market, recording a growth of 54 per cent over the same month last year.

In addition, 86 units were exported, thus making the total sales at 2,046 units, a company statement said here.

The total sales of LCV and HCV sales in August stood at 1,667 units and 293 units as compared to 1,093 units and 183 units in August last year, showing an increase of 30 per cent and 24 per cent respectively.

''Terra 16, a 16 T GVW Tipper introduced recently in select markets has been received very well. The growth in the E2 range of LCV's has been significant,'' Eicher Motors Chief Executive Commercial Vehicle (CV) Division A Ramasubramanian said.

The total growth for the period (including both domestic sales and exports) was 31 per cent for LCV's and 23 per cent for HCV's as compared to August last year.

The highest HCV selling state was Gujarat with 70 units sold during the month.

Eicher Motors, a part of the Eicher Group with a gross sales turnover of Rs 1,900 crore in 2005-06, is involved in the design, manufacture and marketing of commercial vehicles, motorcycles (Royal Enfield) and components as well as providing engineering solutions.
