Congress suggests TRS to disband the party

Hyderabad, Sep 4 (UNI) The Congress today suggested Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhara Rao to disband his party following his admission that the statehood for Telangana could be achieved only by the National parties.

Addressing mediapersons here party spokesperson N Tulasi Reddy said the party headquarters here, Mr Reddy pointed out that the TRS chief while talking to a local TV channel admitted a separate Telangana could be achieved by the national parties only and not by the regional parties.

Stating that the people of Telangana had now understood that the TRS would not serve their purpose and hence lost confidence in that party. The Congress leader refuted Mr Rao's claim that Congress had lost the base in Telangana region.

The people of Telangana had reposed confidence in the Congress as the state government had taken up several development activities, he added.
