Centre to invest Rs 50 crore for health centres in Mizoram

Aizawl, Sept 4: Mizoram's Health Minister R Tlanghmingthanga today announced the Centre would Provide Rs 50 crore for improvement of health centres across the state.

He said that additional 100 health sub-centres to be set up for basic health improvment of the people.

Mr Tlanghmingthanga said that blue-prints for strengthening of Champhai hospital at a cost of Rs 30.54 crore and another Rs 9 crore for setting up a training school for health workers in Aizawl were submitted to the authorities. He said the Centre was requested to sanction Rs 23.52 crore for setting up a community and health sub-centre.

Another sum of Rs 20 lakh received for strengthening each nine community heal centres in the state and Rs 5 lakh had been provided for management of hospitals in district headquarters.
