BSGC targets 8 crore turnover in 2006-07
Kochi, Sep 4 (UNI) Boxer Sports Goods Company (BSGC) of ace footballer I M Vijayan is targeting a sales turnover of Rs 8 crore for the financial year 2006-07.
Addressing a press conference here yesterday, Mr Vijayan said the private limited company, first from Kerala to manufacture sports goods, targeting a sales turnover of Rs 8 crore in the next fiscal had posted a growth rate of 300 per cent in the last financial year with a turnover of Rs 1.78 crore.
He said BSGC would open an 'Apparel Division' at an estimated cost of Rs 75 lakh in Chalakudy in Thrissur district on September 6.
The division would have a capacity to churn out around 100 track suits, 150 cricket apparels and 500 soccer jerseys, Mr Ittera Kavungal, Managing Director of BCGC said.
The company has also opened boxer showrooms at Jalandhar and plans are afoot to launch 20 more similar outlets in major cities in the country, he added.
