Bobo hat-trick helps Services rout Sanjay Academy
Chandigarh, Sep 4 (UNI) Services Sports Control Board of Danapur maintained their winning spree as they outclassed Sanjay Public Football Academy, Chandigarh 13-1 in a Group D match in the fourth Administrator's Challenge Cup All-India Football Tournament for Under-17 at the Sports Complex here today.
Striker Y Bobo Singh netted five goals for services. He scored in the 41st, 63rd, 73rd, 75th and 76th minutes. Arjun Singh (Ist and 79th minutes), Kiran Kumar (11th, 33rd, 42nd minutes), Elvish Kipgen (20th, 46th minutes) and Kh Chinglen Singh (78th) were the other scorers for the winners. The face-saving goal for Sanjay Academy was scored by Gurwant Singh in the 18th minute.
It was a second successive triumph for Services which have strengthened their chances to qualify for the semi-final from this group.
In a group B fixture, a nine-member Uttar Pradesh team earned full points at the expense of Goa Football Association. UP prevailed over their rivals by 2-1. It was the Goa team which first forged ahead in the 15th minute though a goal by Raymond Rodrigues.
Uttar Pradesh whose eight players have been declared overaged struck through Krishana Lal. Krishna first restored parity in the 30th minute and later snatched the match-winner in the 43rd minute.
Punjab Football Association beat Mehar Football Academy of Kurali 4-1. The teams were locked 1-1 in the first half. Baljit Singh gave Punjab FA the lead in the 35th minute while Deepak Kumar levelled the score for MFA in the 44th minute.
Punjab Football Academy scored three goals in the second half.
Amandeep Singh (72nd), Baljit Singh (77th) and Amritpal Singh (81st) were the scorers.
