Blood transfusion reaction claims one; death toll reaches four

Rajkot, Sep 4 (UNI) The death toll in the alleged blood transfusion reaction case rose to four with one more death reported yesterday.

Analben Bharatbhai Rajani (27) died due to reaction after a blood transfusion. She was shifted from a private hospital to Dhakan hospital. However, her condition deteriorated and she died last evening. Dr Sankalp Vanzara attending on her, confirmed her death.

The deceased had received blood from Young Star Blood Bank.

Meanwhile, the Food and Drug department has collected the blood sample and have sent it to the Vadodara laboratory for further analysis.

Earlier three women - Dayaben (45), Puja (30) and Samjuben (50) - were reported dead on Friday due to alleged reaction after blood transfusion.
