Banned drugs worth Rs 100 crore seized, 2 arrested
New Delhi, Sep 4 (UNI) In another major haul of banned substance, mostly circulated among city's high-profile circuit, in the Capital police have seized 550 kg of contraband drugs worth nearly Rs 100 crore from Okhla area of South Delhi and arrested two people in this connection.
The banned substance Ephidrine, used in making Ecstasy and Amphitamine tablets, weighing 550 kg was seized from the Okhla Inland Container Depot this morning, said a senior Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official.
''The seizure is worth nearly Rs 100 crores in the international market. Two persons have been arrested in this connection in the evening.'' Refusing to name the arrested accused, the official said, ''We expect some more arrests and raids are on.'' The seizure was made following a tip-off, he added.
Earlier, the Delhi Police had seized 100 kg of Ephidrine on August 20.
