Bad weather forces postponement of Gulmarg festival

Srinagar, Sep 4 (UNI) Prevailing bad weather in the Kashmir valley has forced the authorities to postpone the four-day Gulmarg festival, beginning September 7, an official spokesman said today.

He said the new dates of the festival would be announced soon.

The festival was to be organised jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department and the Gulmarg Development Authority.

The main features of the festival are cultural programmes by local folk artists and school children, exhibition and sale of Kashmiri handicrafts, horse race, road race, cycle race and a golf tournament, the spokesman added.
