Hyderabad, Sep 3 (UNI)Telagana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) Chief and Former Union Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao today announced that his party would move a private bill in the Winter Session of Parliament for the formation of a separate Telangana state.

In interviews to local TV channels here, he said his party would expose the Congress in Parliament by moving the bill.

He claimed that the Congress, which had accepted the demand for the formation of a Telangana state during the last elections, had gone back on the promise.

Mr Rao said he had not established the TRS for the sake of power.

He had even resigned from several posts before resorting to agitational course.

His colleagues had left the state cabinet and he and Mr Narendra quit the Union Cabinet to achieve their goal through agitation, the TRS chief said .

Referring to Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's statement that there was no need for bifurcation of the state, as his government was taking steps for the rapid development of the Telangana region, he said ''the British also claimed they developed India. Did we not continue the struggle as we wanted freedom and self-respect. ''Similarly the people of Telangana want freedom and self-respect,'' he said.

To a question, Mr Rao said the Congress top leadership was confused as it was presented to it that formation of Telangana was a very complex issue.

''Congress is now in a state of to be or not to be,'' he added.

On the demand of some Congress leaders that the TRS MLAs, MPs, ZP Chairmen and others who won with Congress support should resign, the TRS Chief said all his partymen would resign if the Congress did so first ''as they also won with our support.'' UNI JRK GM SB GC2234
