Tribals in pitiable condition in Jharkhand: Rajukhedi
Ranchi, Sep 3 (UNI) Vice-President of National Tribal Commission Yogendra Singh Rajukhedi today said tribals in rural areas of Jharkhand are not benefitted by the various developmental schemes being run by the government.
Regreting the pitiable condition of the tribals in Jharkhand Mr Rajukhedi said tribals living in the rural areas were not even aware about the various developmental schemes.
He was addressing a press conference after reviewing the status of tribals in Simdega, Chaibasa and Khunti areas of the state.
He said the condition of adivasi hostels in Simdega and Khunti areas were miserable. Adding that people living in those hostels had to bring potable water from far area and they had not been provided the basic facilities like bed and mattress.
He said people in Simdega were not rehabilitated till now after their land was acquired for setting up an industrial unit demanding that the displaced should be employed in those industrial units for which their land had been acquired.
