Success due to Dubai's free market: Chhabria

Dubai, Sept 3 (UNI) Dubai-based Indian businesswoman Vidya Chhabria, who figures in the latest list of 100 Most Powerful Women in the World, has attributed the recognition to Dubai's free market environment.

Chhabria, the only woman from the UAE to make it to the coveted league, lauded the country's open and pragmatic policies that backed expatriate-driven enterprises in line with the vision of the country's rulers.

Forbes Magazine featured Chhabria at the 95th position of the Most Powerful Women in the World ranking.

Chhabria has also featured on Fortune magazine's annual list of 50 most powerful women for three consecutive years.

She expressed surprise at the recognition, attributing it to the performance of her Jumbo group, which spans West Asia and Africa, the Far East, South Asia, Europe, the CIS states and North America.
