Rains pour cold water over wedding plans in Kashmir
Srinagar, Sep 3 (UNI) Rains have played villain to many prospective Kashmiri brides and grooms who were to tie the nuptial knot in the coming few days.
Several weddings have been postponed due to the emerging flood situation and heavy downpour in the Kashmir valley for the past three days.
Many people gave messages on local TV channels and English and Urdu dailies informing the invitees about the postponement of the wedding of their children.
All the Urdu and English dailies carried such messages in their editions today.
According to unofficial estimates, about 2000 wedding ceremonies were proposed to be held in this fortnight in the Kashmir valley.
Rains have poured cold water over the pre-wedding festivities, dampening the excitement among the couples and their families.
No family gave the new date for wedding, forcing the prospective brides and grooms to wait for some more time to enter into the wedlock.
