Rabri demands CBI inquiry into aircraft purchase
Patna, Sep 3 (UNI) Former Bihar Chief Minister and leader of opposition in state assembly Rabri Devi today demanded CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities committed in connection with purchase of King Air C 90 B aircraft by the state government during President's Rule.
Talking to reporters here, Ms Rabri Devi claimed that Comptroller and Auditor General(CAG) of India had detected irregularites in purchase of the concerned aircraft.
''A proposal was sent for purchase of the said aircraft during her tenure but it was rejected,'' she added.
According to CAG report, state government had purchased the C 90 B aircraft on payment of 27.65 lakh dollars, while more sophisticated aircraft Air C 90 G T plane could have been purchased at 29.50 lakh dollar, she maintained.
The controversial purchase of these aircraft was made during President's rule in 2005 when Dr Buta Singh was the governor of Bihar.
