Punjab CPM (Pasla) to contest 10 assembly seats
Jalandhar, Sep 3 (UNI) The Punjab CPM (Pasla) is likely to contest at least 10 assembly seats in the next elections in the state, party state secretary Mangat Ram Pasla said today.
Reiterating its resolve to unify Left parties in the state, Mr Pasla said his party would continue to work to build a pro people left front for the next assembly elections. He said his party had identified ten seats which it would contest.
He said the state committee of the party which met here today, also expressed similar sentiments over this issue.
Mr Pasla said that the state committee also criticised the move of enhancement of perks and facilities of MPs and felt that public representatives failed to show concern for miseries of poor and down trodden.
He also condemned the Congress Government in the state for its alleged anti people policies and the principal opposition party Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) for its ''communal politics''.
Meanwhile, the party also decided to hold its state conference in Amritsar from Novemeber 26 to 29.
