Hyderabad, Sep 3 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh police is looking for CPI(ML-Janasakti) state secretary Amar, who they believe had escaped the police dragnet when the party's national secretary Rajanna was arrested in Uttar Pradesh, a few days ago.

According to police sources, Amar was to come to the Barayibukki bus stand in Uttar Pradesh to join Rajanna and others. However, as Amar's arrival was delayed as Rajanna along with his aides was trying to leave the place, police hurriedly arrested him and four others.

Police now believe that Amar was also in the vicinity and had slipped from their dragnet. An intensive hunt is on for him in Andhra Pradesh and the neighbouring states.

Police said it was Amar who passed on the news of Rajanna's arrest to the media and the civil rights groups.

This was the third time Amar managed to escape from the police. He had done so earlier when the party's state committee member Riaz was arrested in July last year.

Police said he had evaded the trap they laid on the basis of information from the party's state committee member Sagar, who was arrested after Riaz's encounter in Nalgonda.
