Padma Santhanam of TVS family passes away

Chennai, Sep 3 (UNI) Padma Santhanam, wife of late T S Santhanam, Founder-Chairman of Sundaram Finance Ltd and daugther-in-law of late T V Sundaram Iyengar, passed away early today.

She was 85. She is survived by one daughter and two sons--S.Ram, Chariman and MD, Wheels India, and Mr S Viji, Chairman of Sundaram Finance Limited.

She was closely involved with founding of the social service organisations, Avvai Home, Srinivasa Gandhi Nilayam and All India Women's Association.

She was also closely involved with the inception of ''The School'', founded by Krishnamurthy foundation of India (KFI), as well as welfare of children and Education.
