I have learnt to live with my back problem: Sunny Deol

Mumbai, Sep 3 (UNI) Bollywood actor Sunny Deol who makes a comeback after nearly two years with 'Naksha' admits that his back problem was a handicap and he had learnt to live with it.

Sunny's last release was 'Jo Bole So Nihal' which was embroiled into controversy for allegedly hurting Sikh sentiments and bomb blasts in Delhi theatres which were screening the movie.

''Every body knows I was unwell and hence I had to take a sabbatical. But, now I want to work and work. Every year, I should have three to five releases,'' Sunny said while interacting with the media here on Saturday evening.

Tolu Bajaj's 'Naksha' directed by Bajaj's son debutant Sachin releases on September eight. The film stars - Jackie Shroff, Vivek Oberoi and Sameera Reddy besides Sunny.

His next release include, 'Kafila', 'Devdhar Gandhi', 'Fool and Final' and his home production 'Apne'. ''Most of my films were delayed due to my ill health. But, now all the problems have been sorted out and all the films will be released by this year,'' he added.

Sunny said he was on scripts for his directorial venture and would make a final announcement in the middle or end of next year.

Sunny's first directorial movie was 'Dillagi.' He said he was also working on co-productions in which the finances will be handled by the other company while he would look after the creative aspect.

''I am a bad funds manager,'' he said and added that talks are in final stages with K Sera Sera banner.

Referring to 'Naksha', Sunny said the movie was an adventure film with light comedy and action. To a question on whether there was a deliberate attempt to shift from his action image, Sunny said that was not the case. ''Even Fool and Final directed by Ahmed Khan is a fun film. I want to focus on good meaningful and entertaining cinema,'' he added.

Sunny said the script and idea of 'Naksha' appealed to him. ''I am fond of working with young directors because of their honesty.

But, when they become successful and carve a niche for themselves, there is change in their attitude,'' the actor whose differences with directors like Rahul Rawail and Raj kumar Santoshi are well known, said.

However, the actor clarified that he had no problems working with these two directors again.

Speaking about 'Apne', Sunny said the film was close to him because he will feature with his father Dharmendra and younger brother Bobby Deol in the movie. ''For several years, I was looking for a script which would suit all of us. There is an emotional bond in the film and we are all emotional people. The story is about joint family with boxing as the background,'' he added.

Leading distributor Tolu Bajaj who has ventured into production for the first time with 'Naksha' said his son Akshay was the producer and other son Sachin was the director.

''I had made up my mind to enter production seven to eight years ago. Sachin wanted to take his own time. He assisted Ashok Amritraj for two of his films, Tamil film director Shankar, Indra Kumar for 'Mann' and 'Ashiq' before taking the plunge on his own,'' Bajaj said.

Similarly, my productions like 'Baraat' never took off because of various production problems. With Naksha we found a film with universal appeal, he added.

''Adventure films are liked by children. Besides, it has comedy, action and is a complete entertainer,'' he added.

He said he had shot 'Naksha' in Thailand, New Zealand and Panchagani. ''This film belongs to 'Indiana Jones' genre,'' he added.
