Hooda announces development schemes for Karnal distt

Karnal, Sep 3 (UNI) The Haryana Government will set up a Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) residential sector in the historic town of Taraori and the Community Health Centre (CHC) of Nilokheri will be developed into a full fledged civil hospital for providing adequate modern urban residential amenities to the people of the area.

This was announced by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda while addressing a huge Vikas Rally organised by the local MLA, Jai Singh Rana at Nilokheri about 20 km from here today.

The Chief Minister said the government has implemented number of welfare and development schemes in different parts of the state.

He added that the government was committed to solve the problem of power shortage by setting up a number of power plants in Haryana.

He assured the people that the government was striving to generate over 5000 MW of power during the next three-and-a-half years for providing 20 to 22 hours power supply daily to every village of the state.

Mr Hooda said his government had also signed an agreement with Government of Delhi to set up a power plant of 1500 MW which would go a long way in meeting the increasing demand of power supply.

The Chief Minister assured equitable distribution of water throughout the state. He said that the Bhakhra-Main-Line Hansi Branch a Multipurpose Canal was being constructed at a cost of Rs 259 crore for supplying sufficient irrigation water to the parched fields especially in Southern Haryana where the water table had gone very low.
