Former Delhi player dies of heart attack

New Delhi, Sep 3 (UNI) Former Delhi football player and coach Sohan Lal passed away this morning following a heart attack.

Lal was 70 years old and is survived by wife and four children.

The former player, who represented Delhi between 1960 and 1975 suffered a heart attack yesterday and was admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital before being shifted to private clinic in Kirti Nagar where he breathed his last.

Lal was the secretary of the South India Football Club -- affiliated to the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA). He coached various grassroot level Delhi teams and contributed 50 years of his life to game.

DSA President Subhash Chopra and Secretary NK Bhatia expressed their condolences at his sudden demise.
