Event to address challanges of auto industry on Sep 7
New Delhi, Sep 3 (UNI) Corporate leaders including Infosys Technologies President and CMD Nandan Nilekani, Mahindra and Mahindra Vice Chairman Anand Mahindra and eminent political personalities including Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora are expected to participate in a convention being organised here jointly by SIAM and Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises on September 7.
The convention to be addressed by Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Santosh Mohan Deb, will be based on the theme 'India-An Automotive Hub: The Next Leap' and focus on the opportunities and challenges before the Indian auto industry.
The event will see deliberations on addressing the challenges of fuel, safety and environment, investment, mergers and acquisition and human resource for shaping the automobile sector.
A panel comprising of Maruti Udyog MD Jagdish Khattar, Tata Motors MD Ravi Kant, Mahindra and Mahindra President-Auto Sector Dr Pawan Goenka, Sona Koyo Steering Systems CMD Dr Surinder Kapur and Hi-Tech Gears CMD Deep Kapuria would share their thoughts and ideas on the growth and prospects of the automotive industry.
The Government is drawing up an Automotive Mission Plan 2016 (AMP 2016) that would make the country a global automotive hub.
The event aims to share the AMP 2016 with a broad set of stakeholders and to discuss, debate and drive this initiative, a statement issued by SIAM -- body representing 38 leading vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India said.
