5 naxals nabbed in UP, sent to remand

Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 3 (UNI) A local court remanded five CPI(ML) Janasakthi naxals, including Party Central Committee Secretary K Rajanna, to 15 days judicial custody.

Police here said AP State Janasakthi Committee Members Narasimha Reddy, Narasimhaiah, Janasakthi Bijnur District Secretary Ashok Kumar Rajput, Maharashtra Janasakthi State Secretary Ram Kishan Pawar and Rajanna were arrested in Uttar Pradesh by a special branch team of Andhra Pradesh Police following a tip off.

They were later brought to Hyderabad and produced before Metpally Munisif Magistrate who remanded them to custody. They were sent to Jagtial Sub-Jail.

Earlier, police foiled an attempt by the naxals to escape from their captors at Goplaraopeta here. Some important documents were also seized from them.
