YSR seeks info on AP terror victims in Iraq

New Delhi, Sep 2 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajashekhara Reddy today sought detailed information from the Centre regarding unconfirmed reports that three persons from the state became victims of terrorist attacks in Iraq.

The issue cropped up while Dr Reddy was meeting Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and the two leaders have sought details from the Ministry of External Affairs, Andhra Pradesh government sources said.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister sought extra financial assistance of Rs 1,000 crore from the Centre for taking up building bunds along the river Godavari for containing future flood fury in the river. Issues concerning naxal activities, law and order situation also figured in the meeting, sources said. Dr Reddy has left for Hyderabad after his meeting with Mr Patil.
